They would rather dismiss such incidents as being caused by mechanical problems.  I understand that they don't want to increase morale of the enemy.  But I would be equally embarrased by admitting that US equipment maintenance sucks.  Even in peacetime, there are many military training accidents, especially with helicopters.  I guess I'd like to have some sense that they fix problems to prevent repeat incidents.
